world hunger statistics via typographic food

The statistics on world hunger are...frightening.

This project was originally stimulated by my advanced photography course where we could choose from one of two concepts: overconsumption or world hunger. I chose to take a typographic type approach and help lay out the facts for some people.

Enjoy. Comments welcomed!

Sidenote: Apologies for the off-white background of the images. Blogger tries to fix highlights on photos and it is, well, annoying.

haad yao beach on koh phangnan

The gang and I headed to Koh Phangnan last month to participate in the ever-so-popular Full Moon Party. My main concern, however, was spending enough time on the beautiful beach to get a nice tan and relax my cares away.

Koh Phangnan is an island in the Gulf of Thailand. It's famous for it's Full Moon Party and as a popular backpacker destination. The Full Moon Party brings up to 40,000 party-goers on a normal month and up to 1,000,000 in the high season.

I spent two days on Haad Yao Beach due to it's picture perfect, postcard material. The beach stretches across one kilometer of white sand. There are plenty of restaurants and bars available to get you set up with a fresh coconut or a good seafood lunch. The water is the clearest, warmest water I've ever step foot in.
