Koh Chang is the biggest island off of Thailand's mainland. From Bangkok, you can get to Koh Chang with a five hour bus ride and half an hour on a ferry. The island is quite cheap in comparison to the other popular islands of Thailand.
What to expect in Koh Chang? Lots of monkeys, lots of trees, and loads of winding, curving roads!
Koh Chang was one of my favorite experiences while in Thailand. I would recommend this island to everyone looking for a long, relaxing weekend getaway from the busy city life.
We stayed at the
Little Eden Bungalows in Koh Chang. I would definitely recommend staying here. The bungalows are cheap and come equipped with anything you will need. There isn't any A/C but Koh Chang gets quite cool in the evening so the fans in the bungalows will do just fine.
The owner of the bungalows is an English man who speaks wonderful English and also a bit of German. The restaurant at the bungalows is delicious and affordable.
The Little Eden Bungalows are very affordable and make your time in Koh Chang just splendid.
Four of us stayed in this bungalow suite for 1,100 baht per night (30 USD) a night.
Mosquito nets come in handy in the evenings.
The bathroom is basically outdoors- not for the faint of heart. Get ready for guest lizards to join you in your showers.
