I'm an adult, goddamnit! Now is the time I am allowed to create my own traditions, while doing my best to keep all the old ones. So, I grabbed Justin and put together a Friendsgiving, inviting all my close friends in Bangkok together in our home.

The whole day building up to the actually event was exhausting. We don't own an oven (most Thai homes don't) so we had to cook at Justin's uncle's place. Imagine...
Taking the taxi to the grocery store, searching hard for all the overpriced imported goods I needed for "traditional recipes", taking another taxi to his uncle's place, cooking in someone else's kitchen, gathering all our now cooked shit back into another taxi, coming home, putting it all together on the table, warming it all up again in the microwave... You get the point. We made it happen though.
A green bean casserole, eight tons of mashed potatoes and some chocolate chip cookies later, our friends showed up at our door with more delicious food. We listened to music, played charades (attempted) and enjoyed each other's company.
Throughout the evening, everyone took turns writing down what they were grateful for in their lives. This is a tradition that even being half away across the world couldn't change.
Happy Friendsgiving, y'all.
