UNSEEN THAILAND: phitsanulok
I put off writing this post for several days, maybe a couple weeks. I can't even explain why. The draft page has been open on my computer for awhile. I keep staring at it and nothing comes out. Is this writer's block? Can I call myself a writer even?
It really has been awhile since I wrote as the last post in here is from February and the text reads as follows:
"I'm gonna let the pictures do the talking on this one."
Oh, McKinsey, you are ridiculously lame and obviously too lazy to actually write anything.
NOT THIS TIME, MATE.
Now on to the actual content for this post. UNSEEN THAILAND: Phitsanulok. I keep using this phrase 'unseen Thailand' as it was a recurring theme in the TV show we were filming, Sofar So Good. This show is filmed in various locations around Thailand and each episode brings along a different tourist or foreigner to experience these new locations, new places, things off the beaten path. The purpose behind Sofar So Good is to showcase tourism in the country. So, yeah, I got a whole 45 minutes of fame in the episode the folks at Sofar So Good wanted to film with me.
Though I'll admit being filmed for television is kind of nervewracking. After each scene I filmed, all I could think was Shit did I sound like an idiot? Did I say "That's amazing!" too many times? Do my super cool overalls actually look really dorky? Or maybe that's me being the paranoid, anxiety-ridden human being I am. Probably.

koh samet
Koh Samet is one of our favorite little vacation spots & it happens to be just a 2 hour drive + 15 minute speed boat ride away from Bangkok. This time we had the sincere pleasure of relaxing with Justin's mama. She's a beautiful woman inside & out and her company is priceless.

we welcome you, 2016
After many tears, dreams coming too slowly into fruition, and struggle - Justin and I are more ready than ever to begin this new year together. While a new year truly doesn't mean much in terms of change, it symbolizes a blank slate and new beginnings.
We spent the day at Lumpini Park, enjoying the cool breezes and the funny swan boats. The weather is cooler now in Thailand and it's actually pleasant to be outdoors. After feeding the overly large fish, we stopped by Robin Hood pub in Phrom Phong for a beer & whiskey coke. With big appetites, we went to dinner at Beirut, a most favorite Lebanese restaurant for which I have no images because I was too busy clogging my arteries with hummus.
Happy New Year to all! May 2016 be a blessed year for each of you.

christmas in khao yai
Merry Christmas to all my wonderful friends and family, Merry Christmas to the workers at 7/11 who always remember my coffee order, Merry Christmas to the motorbike drivers outside my condo who know where to take me without having to ask.Merry Christmas!
To follow up to my Thanksgiving post, this was my first Christmas season away from family and away from the Western world. I don't think people truly understand how different the rest of the world can be. An American friend asked me about two weeks ago via Facebook if Thai Christmas music was better or worse than American Christmas music.
Haha, there is no Thai Christmas music. Lies, I think I heard ONE. But, that's it. This is a Buddhist culture, and in Buddhist culture they don't celebrate Christmas. First of all, it's hotter than balls still and the only Christmas decor you see is at huge malls where the only purpose is to tempt rich expats and affluent Thais to go spend their money on way-too-expensive stuff.
